Hansi Flick said that his Barcelona side "never gives up" after Raphinha's injury-time winner earned Barcelona a 4-3 win over RC Celta in La Liga on Saturday afternoon.
Raphinha scored a remarkable 98th-minute winner for the Catalans, and Flick embraced the Brazilian immediately after the final whistle.
A Borja Iglesias hat-trick had given the away side a 3-1 lead after 62 minutes. Ferran Torres had opened the scoring for the home side in the 12th minute. Dani Olmo reduced the deficit on 64 minutes, with Raphinha levelling four minutes later.
The win took Barcelona seven points clear of their nearest rivals, defending champions Real Madrid, who have a game in hand. Real face Athletic Club on Sunday evening.
Raphinha is enjoying his best season at Barcelona, with 30 goals to his name after 48 appearances. In his previous two seasons, he had scored a total of 20 goals since his 2022 transfer from Leeds United.
Speaking after the win, Barca manager Flick praised his players for their efforts in the comeback win.
"It was a great comeback, very important. One game less and three more points," he said.
"I like that the team never gives up. The feelings are positive"
There was potential bad news for the league leaders, though, as striker Robert Lewandowski was subbed off in the second half with an injury.
"We have to wait until tomorrow," Flick said of the extent of the Pole’s problem.
Lewandowski is Barcelona’s top scorer with 40 goals so far this season, with 25 coming in the league.
Flick’s men will be back in action on Tuesday night, when they play Mallorca at home, before their Copa del Rey final with Real Madrid on April 26.
