JOSE SA has been pulled from Wolves' starting XI just four minutes before he was due to face Manchester United.

The goalkeeper picked up an injury late in the warm-up before the Premier League clash.

He received treatment on the pitch from the club physios but was deemed not fit enough to start.

The West Midlands outfit have drafted in Dan Bentley to deputise in Sa's place.

Wolves confirmed the late change on social media with a brief statement.

It read: "A late change to the starting XI.

"Dan Bentley will replace Jose Sa in goal and Tom King will now start on the bench."

Fans were baffled by the decision to replace Sam with Bentley, with many asking why Sam Johnstone was not called on.

One posted: "Where is Johnstone?"

A second wrote: "Thank God we have £10m mastermind signing Sam Johnst..."

Sa has replaced Johnstone as the first-choice stopper at Wolves.

The former England international has not played in the Premier League since the 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town in December.

Wolves went into the match just three points behind the Red Devils, having climbed away from the threat of relegation under Vítor Pereira.
