The dust may have settled on the big game action and yet there is still a swirl of refereeing controversy churning through the air.
No we’re not talking about John Beaton’s Hampden display on Saturday but the performance of Bosnian ref Irfan Peljto in Bilbao from 48 hours earlier!
The Hotline remains torn over whether Cyriel Dessers’ ripped shirt should have resulted in a Rangers penalty during Thursday night’s Europa League showdown with Athletic Club.
Stefan Lomako, Whithorn, said: “Rangers were well and truly robbed of the shirt ripping penalty which could have been a sending off and a game changer.
“Frustration due to missed chances could have had an adverse effect on Athletic and Rangers, even with backs to the wall, could have capitalised.
"That's history now but next season will be very interesting and I hope Celtic stay focused. I believe the greens and blues can still make the Champions League if rules allow.”
Billy Barrie, Dundee, added: “It would be fair to say that there was a shirt-pull on Dessers and normally VAR would have a look at it, but I think the reason the penalty wasn't given was because of the way Dessers literally throws himself to the ground.

“Had he stayed on his feet, he MIGHT have got a shot away. Dessers is an absolute disgrace the way he throws himself around looking for penalties during EVERY match I've ever seen him play in.
“Supporters of every other team in Scotland would probably say to Rangers 'now you know how we feel after playing against you' considering that pre-VAR, Rangers went more than two seasons without having one penalty awarded against them in a league match. Karma!”
John Rush said: “I can only advise Cyril Dessers to make more effort at football because if he was to take up acting he wouldn't earn enough to buy a sausage roll from Greggs.
“His theatrical efforts on Thursday night, when his shirt was pulled, was so out of sync that by the time he finally hit the dirt the second half had kicked off.”
Gers went down 2-0 at San Mames as their dreams of another run to the final fell apart. Willie Mercer, Dumfries, said: “Barry Ferguson said on Thursday night that he was forced into making the substitutions he did, which was not exactly correct.
“He brought Connor Barron on and shuffled three players out of position to accommodate that change following Ridvan Yilmaz’s injury, affecting his team shape and game plan.
“Instead, had he brought Clinton Nsiala on and moved James Tavernier to right back, this would have had no effect whatsoever on his team shape or game plan. I’m sure I was not the only Rangers fan left baffled at the substitution and reshaping of the team.”
Graham Taylor, Airdrie, said: “Rangers’ season is dead and buried before the Easter Bunny has arrived.
“We have become a laughing stock for far too long. Any chance we have of improving for next season is evaporating day by day as still no news of the so-called takeover.
“If we were to have any chance of challenging Celtic next season, the takeover would need to be complete.
“Just another farce by Rangers which is no surprise. Now we have to endure that lot lifting more and more silverware in the weeks ahead. Absolutely sick of this.”
Frank Jackson did eventually get around to discussing the Aberdeen-Hearts Scottish Cup semi as he said: “Just watched the game at Hampden and was very surprised that Hearts had two players sent off.
“I've been going to football since 1955 and if those were bookings and sending off offences then I am done. A potentially very good game ruined by an over zealous official.”
