Andre Onana could reportedly be given a second chance at Manchester United as manager Ruben Amorim is prioritising strengthening other areas of the squad.

According to the Mirror, Amorim has directed his recruitment team at Old Trafford to focus on securing several outfield players, with a striker, two midfielders, a centre-back and at least one wing-back topping his wish list.

While the Reds are keen on Belgian youngster Seine Lammens from Royal Antwerp, it seems that Amorim is open to sticking with Onana as his first-choice goalkeeper next season.

This situation may only change if United receive an offer exceeding £20million for the Cameroon international. There was previous interest in Onana from the Saudi Pro League, and the club are hoping that this re-emerges in the summer, with a bid of over £20m required to help with Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Onana was dropped from the United squad for last weekend's trip to Newcastle following a string of high-profile errors, culminating in a disastrous performance in the 2-2 Europa League draw at Lyon.

However, he returned for the second leg last Thursday night, making several impressive saves despite conceding four goals as Amorim's side secured a semi-final spot with a 7-6 aggregate victory.
