Gabriel Martinelli made a big impact in Arsenal's 4-0 Premier League victory away to Ipswich Town this past weekend. For the first time in five months, the Brazil international was on the score sheet for the second consecutive game.

Two Leandro Trossard goals and a late strike from Ethan Nwaneri sealed the dominant victory with it being the perfect preparation for Mikel Arteta ahead of the Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.

A clash against Crystal Palace this coming Wednesday arrives first however, with the Gunners still needing to qualify for Europe's top competition for next season.

There is also still the small matter of the Premier League title with anything but a win for Arsenal confirming Liverpool as champions.

Martinelli has been a constant in the two competitions and therefore starts in both of Arsenal's next two games looks likely especially as he appears to be hitting some form.

Having scored the winner in Arsenal's quarter-final second leg triumph over Real Madrid earlier this week, Martinelli hit a landmark tally of 50 goals for the club following his smart first-time finish at Portman Road.

Asked about the achievement in his press conference, Arteta admitted: "That's great - I think he's in very good form at the moment, full of confidence, looks really sharp as well and he's arriving in very dangerous situations with very good timing which is good to see."

Alongside the Arsenal boss celebrating that success, Martinelli was also seemingly welcomed home with a gift from his partner Isabella.

On Instagram, she uploaded a photo of a cake that had the number 50 written on it. And in case it wasn't clear what was being reference the image was captioned, "50 [football and goal net emoji]."

Given what is right around the corner, the 23-year-old appears to be hitting form at the perfect time. Achraf Hakimi is expected to be the PSG star tasked with stopping Martinelli but the Arsenal winger will also have to put in his fair share of defensive work.

Luis Enrique considers the Moroccan to be a key part of his team with that evidenced by him being rested for PSG'S Ligue 1 clash against Nantes this evening.

With the title already secured, rotation has been taking place as of late with Ousmane Dembele the player omitted from the squad that beat Le Havre last Friday.
