Chris Davies has a lot to consider when selecting his Birmingham City team for Stevenage on Thursday.

The EFL have crammed a trip to Stevenage into Blues’ busy end-of-season schedule, making this week one with three games.

Blues beat Burton Albion on Monday and they will host Mansfield in their final home game at St Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park on Sunday.

Davies will probably want to play his regular starters against Mansfield before Blues lift the League One trophy, so he won’t be able to start them all at Stevenage.

Speaking post Burton, Davies conceded: “We changed five for this game, it may be something similar for the next game because they just aren’t going to be able to go all the time. We’ve got some good options now for Stevenage.”

Ryan Allsop is one of four goalkeepers battling it out for the Golden Glove award – the goalkeeper with the most league clean sheets – and will surely keep his place.

Davies has promised Lee Myung-jae a start at left-back and this seems to be the perfect game. Ben Davies can come in to give Christoph Klarer a rest after having his own breather at Burton and Ethan Laird’s return at right-back would provide a first team feel.

Tomoki Iwata and Paik Seung-ho will likely start the final home game, so Davies could rest both of them and play Marc Leonard and Taylor Gardner-Hickman in the engine room.

In the attack, Jay Stansfield is chasing the Golden Boot so the rotation is likely to come behind him. The striker has 19 league goals, two behind Leyton Orient’s Charlie Kelman in the scoring charts, but he does have an extra 180 minutes of football to play.

Willum Willumsson is feeling his way back into form and Davies was buoyed by his performance at Burton. The Blues manager might keep rolling Willumsson out to test whether he is suited to the grind of English football.

Luke Harris barely played at Burton and deserves a chance and Keshi Anderson is fresh again.

This line-up includes six changes from Burton and gives Davies the chance to run the rule over the likes of Grant Hanley, Lee, Leonard and Harris without losing much quality.

Predicted XI for Stevenage...

(4-2-3-1): Allsop; Laird, Hanley, Davies, Lee; Leonard, Gardner-Hickman; Willumsson, Harris, Anderson; Stansfield
