Jack Grealish next job plan emerges as Aston Villa icon looks ahead - 'Spanish in a Brummy accent'

Jack Grealish has not featured for Manchester City since March 10, but he has been busy this week as he looks to take up a new career once his time as a professional footballer comes to an end

Jack Grealish may already be plotting his post-football career, although he confessed just a few years back that he was "awful" at his alternate love.

With Manchester City gearing up for an FA Cup semi-final clash against Nottingham Forest on Sunday (4.30pm), playmaker Grealish has been unwinding by diving into DJ-ing with the help of Manchester star Rudosa.

Eager to hone his skills, the Aston Villa old boy shared on Instagram: "Some practice with the guvnaaa", before adding, "Trying to plan my first set."

The prospect of Grealish commanding a dance floor in Ibiza this summer might seem a bit farfetched at the moment, yet music has been a cherished pastime for the 29-year-old for quite some time.

He opened up to Josh Denzel on TNT Sports in 2022 about his foray into DJ-ing, alongside other interests, saying: "I like every type of music. I'm trying to learn to DJ at the moment - DJ Grealo. I'm awful, but everything takes time.

"People say DJ-ing, once you get the hang of it, it's something you can really enjoy. I don't know what my genre would be, probably a bit of everything - '80s, house, RnB, hip hop, '90s.

"I want to try and learn some stuff outside of football. I watch some stuff on TV but when I thought about it I don't actually do much outside of football.

"I'm trying to learn Spanish as well, Spanish in a Brummy accent."

The following year - as part of City's sponsorship deal with OKX - Grealish hosted his first DJ set alongside Oliver Heldens in the 'OKX Collective Metaverse', reports the Manchester Evening News.

Transitioning into music after retiring from professional football would be an unconventional career path for the Solihull-raised star. Most footballers become coaches or managers after ending their playing careers, or move into punditry, but Grealish has not expressed a desire to do any of that as of yet.

For now, he has another two years remaining on his Etihad contract, although he has been linked with a move away from the club this summer - including back to boyhood club Villa - after chances in Pep Guardiola's team slowed down. Tottenham Hotspur are another of the clubs credited with an interest in his services, while Newcastle have also been linked.

Whether Grealish will get his chance to impress against Forest on Sunday is unclear - but he will no doubt be taking a keen interest in the weekend's other semi-final - when Villa clash with Crystal Palace for a place in the final.
