Brendan Rodgers unimpressed by Celtic fan protest as boss shakes his head at tangerines being launched on to Tannadice turf
The Hoops boss could not hide his frustration with the stunt from fans in the away section
Brendan Rodgers was less than impressed after Celtic fans caused a near-three minute delay against Dundee United at Tannadice by launching tangerines onto the pitch.
The Hoops - who can clinch a fourth straight Premiership title against the Tayside club by avoiding defeat - had complained about the hike in ticket prices for punters in the lead-up to the game, with some supporters being asked to fork out as much as £40.
And in the early minutes of the league clash at Tannadice, the supporters then took it upon themselves to make their feelings on the price hike known by throwing dozens of tangerines onto the turf.
Dundee United ground staff were quickly on the scene to clear the pitch but it took another two and half minutes for the game to finally resume again.
And Hoops boss Rodgers couldn't hide his frustration at the protest, with TV cameras picking up the Irishman shaking his head.
Parkhead legend Chris Sutton was on commentary duty for Sky at Tannadice and while he admits he understands the fans' fury, also voiced his disappointment at the stunt.
He said: "I can understand supporters frustration with that.
"But they are still being launched on and all it will do is drag the game out.
"It just disrupts the rhythm of the game.
"Dundee Utd have made a positive start and both sets of players could do without this."
