PSG head coach Luis Enrique has insisted that the atmosphere at the Parc des Princes could be enough to push his side to victory against Arsenal in the Champions League semi-final second leg.
The Parisians hold a slender advantage heading into the second leg thanks to Ousmane Dembele's strike through a crowded penalty box which separated the two teams on the night. Arsenal had their chances to equalise and thought they had moments into the second half when Mikel Merino headed in Declan Rice's free kick, but it was eventually ruled out for offside after a lengthy delay.
Leandro Trossard also came agonisingly close to levelling the tie, but somehow Gianluigi Donnarumma was equal to the effort to tip it round the post. Despite the Gunners' clear chances, they came away from the contest fortunate not to be 2-0 down at least.
Goncalo Ramos had an effort strike the crossbar, while Bradley Barcola should have done better when one-on-one with David Raya. PSG will now be considered favourites to advance to the Munich final, and Enrique hopes that home advantage in the second leg will count.
"We need to prepare for the second match, it is going to be difficult," he explained. "There is going to be a little advantage for us but I think we need to go through that match with the same mentality.
"We are going to suffer, we know that, and I hope that the supporters in our stadium, with our atmosphere, we can go for the final - that is our message but, there is still one match." Reflecting on the game, Enrique refused to analyse it.
"I think emotions are at that level in these types of matches," he concluded. "It is difficult to analyse a match like that.
"Very difficult to play, a great atmosphere but I think we showed the kind of team we are. We tried to play our way, we scored the first goal in the first two or three minutes playing the way we try to play and I am happy.
"We suffered a lot in the match and we could have scored the second goal but there is a second match and it is going to be very tough."
