The Premier League run-in has begun and we all know what that means - the transfer window is right around the corner. This summer's first window will open on June 1 and close just over a week later due to the expanded Club World Cup.
And while it's not a long window, there could still be some big deals in the offing. Manchester United have identified Matheus Cunha as their top target, with the Wolves star's contract including a £62.5million release clause. His signing, though, could hinge on Marcus Rashford leaving Old Trafford permanently.
Meanwhile, Arsenal also aiming to add to their frontline having reportedly moved to the front of the queue for Viktor Gyokeres. Leicester star Bilal El Khannouss has also emerged as a bargain addition. The Gunners could also move to bolster their defensive options with a swoop for Franco Mastantouno, albeit there is competition from Premier League champions Liverpool and Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Sticking with the Reds, they could also have big plans. Boss Arne Slot has suggested that their league crown could potentially see them in pole position for signings during the summer.

Carragher 'surprised' at lack of Palmer to Liverpool links
Jamie Carragher admits that he's 'surprised' no one has tipped Cole Palmer to join Liverpool.
In his column for the Telegraph, Carragher wrote: "It has been suggested that Liverpool should build for the title defence by breaking the bank for Alexander Isak. It surprises me that no one has argued that Cole Palmer should be on the new champions' radar.
"Far-fetched? Too expensive? Most likely. Liverpool "going big" for footballers who are already established on mammoth and long contracts elsewhere is not their strategy, so if you read headlines saying "Jamie Carragher says Liverpool should buy Palmer", you are not reading this correctly.
"But predators will be circling and keeping tabs on what is going on at Stamford Bridge. In the first half of this season, Palmer was neck and neck with Mohamed Salah as the best player in the league. His numbers have dropped in the last couple of months, but he is still creating chances."

City hoping to land Mastantuono
Manchester City are leading the race for Franco Mastantuono, according to Gazzetta but have competition from Paris Saint-Germain.
There is also interest from elsewhere in the Premier League, while Inter and Milan are interested in taking the River Plate teenager to Italy.

He has been linked with the Brazil job, as has Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Watkins 'deserves' Arsenal move
Rio Ferdinand believes Ollie Watkins deserves the chance to play for Arsenal after his impressive Aston Villa form.
"I think he’s a cult hero here. He’s one of the main reasons as to why they’re playing Champions League football and playing at this level. I think for any defender, he’s a hard day’s work, 100 per cent, he’s added quality to his game over the last few years," Ferdinand said on TNT Sports.
"His route to the top hasn’t been conventional, no academies, he’s worked his way here and he deserves everything he gets. I wasn’t surprised Arsenal came in for him because I think he deserves that given the performances and the output he’s been putting in."

Sesko sends reminder to suitors
RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko continues to be linked with a high-profile move, with Arsenal appearing to hold the upper hand.
The Slovenian scored an early opener against Bayern Munich as his Leipzig team tried to stop the Bavarians clinching the title.
It was goal number 21 of the season for the 21-year-old, with 13 of those coming in the Bundesliga, and Leipzig stopped Bayern from winning the title after a Yussuf Poulsen leveller made it 3-3 in stoppage time.

Dortmund's Chukwuemeka concern
Borussia Dortmund remain interested in a permanent move for on-loan Carney Chukwuemeka, but could have an unexpected issue according to Christian Falk.
The Bundesliga club can land the Chelsea midfielder for around £30million, but that option expires before the Club World Cup.
Dortmund are expected to raise significant funds from their run in that tournament, but the exact amount remains uncertain - potentially providing a knock-on effect for their summer plans.

McKennie set for Juve extension
Former Premier League target Weston McKennie is close to a new Juventus deal, according to Fabrizio Romano.

He has reestablished himself in Turin, though, and is expected to extend his stay until 2028.

Carragher thinks Guardiola deserves break
Jamie Carragher would not begrudge Pep Guardiola some time off if and when he leaves Manchester City.
Guardiola signed a contract extension earlier this season, but has indicated he won't jump straight into a new job whenever he decides to end his time at the Etihad Stadium.
“He's been very successful and he deserves a break of a year if he needs it - if he feels he needs one, he needs one,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

Real Madrid to step up Carreras push
Real Madrid are ready to look to Alvaro Carreras to fix their left-back issues, according to Relevo (via Football Espana).
The former Manchester United youngster is currently at Benfica, and wouldn't come cheap.
Miguel Gutierrez and Theo Hernandez are other options for Los Blancos, who have been forced to use Eduardo Camavinga out of position in the role at times this term.

What will Championship play-offs mean for transfer window

The Boro star has attracted interest from the Premier League and overseas.

Flamengo chief makes Jorginho admission
Jorginho won't join Flamengo before the end of the European season, the Brazilian club's technical director Jose Boto has said.
The Brazil-born Italy international is expected to return to the country of his birth as he prepares for his Arsenal contract to expire.
“If Jorginho comes, it will be after the season in Europe ends. I hope it will be in time for the [Club] World Cup,” he told Flazoeiro (via Sport Witness).

Arsenal 'add Lookman to list'
Atalanta star Ademola Lookman is being eyed up by Arsenal, according to Sky Deutschland.
The former Premier League star helped his team win the Europa League last term but has been tipped to leave amid a high-profile disagreement with boss Gian Piero Gasperini.
Arsenal aren't the only team keen on the Nigeria international, who has 20 goals this season.

Ancelotti coy on future
Carlo Ancelotti says he has decided what's in store for him, but stopped short of providing an update on his Real Madrid future.
The Italian manager has been tipped to leave at the end of the season, and has been heavily linked with the Brazil job.
"I know exactly what I have to do, and what I'm going to do. And I won't be discussing my future today. You'll be disappointed, but I couldn't care less," Ancelotti told reporters.

Chelsea 'would have considered' Van Dijk
Chelsea considered pursuing a move for Virgil van Dijk had the Liverpool captain chosen to leave Anfield, according to Sky Sports.
Van Dijk, who turns 34 this summer, left it late to agree fresh terms and has since helped his team win the Premier League title.
Chelsea are no strangers to getting the best out of veteran defenders, with Thiago Silva sticking around until a few months shy of his 40th birthday.

PSG eye Endrick
Speaking of talented wingers, PSG have their own on the agenda.
According to Real Madrid Confidential, the Ligue 1 giants have their eyes on Brazilian wonderkid Endrick. The 18-year-old has found opportunities limited at the Bernabeu this season and France could be a potential destination.
It was previously reported that there was interest in Endrick from the Premier League.

De Bruyne drops fresh hint
Kevin De Bruyne has admitted that he is unsure of exactly when his Man City exit will be.
The Belgian is set to leave the club this summer but could still play at the Club World Cup. He said: “I don't know. For me, it will depend on whatever happens in the future, you know, depending on what team I'll go to and what competition I'll play in.
“Also, if the new team doesn't want me to play and doesn't want to risk whatever happens. I haven't really spoken to City about it, so I don't know. If they want to have a conversation, we can. But I'm not sure about this.”

Fresh Rashford hint dropped
It now looks sure that Marcus Rashford will NOT be a Manchester United player next term. Loan side Aston Villa have the option to sign him permanently and their upcoming signing Yasin Özcan says he is very excited to play with him.
Speaking to MacKolik, he said: “Aston Villa made very important transfers in the winter transfer window. It’s going to be very exciting training with then in pre-season camp. The players I want to play with the most are Rashford and Watkins. I’d love to play with them."

Reading takeover complete
Just a slight break from transfer news now as Reading finally confirm their takeover.
A statement released on Saturday read: "Reading Football Club is pleased to announce the sale in principle of the club to Redwood Holdings Limited.
"The takeover includes the Select Car Leasing Stadium and Bearwood Park Training Ground. The formal completion of the transaction is subject to final legal technicalities but is fully expected to be completed shortly.
"Based on the agreement between the parties, the EFL has agreed to extend its deadline for the divestment of Mr Dai Yongge’s shareholding until its next Board Meeting on 8 May.
"Redwood Holdings Ltd is a subsidiary of Dogwood Football LLC, which is owned by Rob Couhig and Todd Trosclair of New Orleans, Louisiana."
Mastantuono backed to be 'next Messi'
Franco Mastantuono has been backed to emulate Lionel Messi amid interest from Man United and Chelsea.
Speaking to DSports Radio, current Matias AEK Athens Matias Almeyda. manager said: "Another Maradona or another Messi will unlikely emerge, but another player will come.
"After Maradona, people said that there would never be another like him, and then Messi appeared, and I think that after Messi, another one will appear, and his name is Franco Mastantuono."

Man Utd eye Tah
One of the most desired free agents this summer looks set to be Jonathan Tah. The Bayer Leverkusen man's contract is out of contract this summer.
Both Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked with him but Manchester United could also make a move for the German. According to Sky in Germany via TEAMtalk, the Red Devils cannot be totally discounted.
United could certainly do with adding a new defender to their squad ahead of next season.

Real Madrid plot Hernandez move
Real Madrid are planning a return for former defender Theo Hernandez.
According to AS, club chiefs see the Frenchman as an option to bolster the left side of their defence. And they could potentially get him for a cut-price deal.
Hernandez has just a year remaining on his contract with current side AC Milan.

Chelsea eye Ajax star
Liverpool and Arsenal could face competition for Ajax star Jorrel Hato this summer.
Both Premier League sides have been linked with moves for the Dutchman but one of their rivals could muscle in. According to Sky Sports, the Blues are 'seriously considering making a move' for the defender.
They have been scouting him closely ahead of a potential summer swoop.
