'All will be revealed' - Jamie Carragher outlines Trent Alexander-Arnold Liverpool contract hope
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has been speaking about Trent Alexander-Arnold's Anfield future
Jamie Carragher hopes Liverpool's Premier League title celebrations will sway Trent Alexander-Arnold's decision to stay at Anfield. A product of the club's academy system, the England international has gone on to establish himself as one of the best right-backs in the world.
During his time in the Reds’ first-team, he has also won every major trophy on offer. However, with his contract set to expire in the summer, he continues to be linked with a move to Real Madrid.
As reported by the ECHO back in March, Alexander-Arnold is continuing to consider whether to accept an offer from Real.
The La Liga giants also failed in a bid to sign the defender for a cut-price fee during the January transfer window.
Liverpool supporters have understandably reacted with mixed responses to the prospect of Alexander-Arnold heading to the Spanish capital, and ex-Reds defender Carragher, who made over 700 appearances for Liverpool, has offered his take on what the future could hold for his former club's talented defender.
"He's a unique footballer, that's why Real Madrid want to sign him," he told Sky Sports. "He's been part of one of the most successful periods in Liverpool's history.
"We all want that to continue [with Trent], but at the moment it's not looking good. But when you look at the scenes at the weekend, Trent being involved in that, being a local player, the support the Kop have for him, you're watching that and hoping that will sway him to put pen to paper. All will be revealed in the next few weeks."
Speaking about his future following his side's 1-0 win over Leicester City last month, Alexander-Arnold said: "I have said all season that I am not going to speak on my situation. I am not going to go into the details.
"But days like today are always special. Scoring goals, playing games, winning games, winning titles - they are special moments for me and I am glad to do my part."
