David Beckham’s fortune soars to new heights as net worth with Victoria just behind King
David Beckham and his wife Victoria are closing in on King Charles III in terms of net worth, despite the royal's finances having also seen a significant rise in the last year
David and Victoria Beckham are fast approaching the same net worth as King Charles III.
The former Manchester United footballer and his Spice Girl wife, who have been wed for nearly 25 years, saw their wealth increase by a staggering £45million between 2024 and 2025. The Sunday Times Rich List reveals that this takes their total to the £500m mark.
Meanwhile, King Charles, who ascended to the throne following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022, saw his own finances grow by £30m during the same period. His total worth now stands at £640m – the same amount as former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murty.
Beckham, who celebrated his 50th birthday earlier this month, amassed his wealth and fame through a successful football career. The right-midfielder came up through the youth systems of Tottenham Hotspur and later Manchester United, before signing his first professional contract at Old Trafford in 1992.
After scoring 85 goals and providing 121 assists in 394 appearances, winning six Premier League titles, four domestic trophies and a Champions League under the tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson, Beckham transferred to Real Madrid in a £25m move in 2003. After four years at the Bernabeu, Beckham spent his twilight years with LA Galaxy, had loan stints with AC Milan, and concluded his career with a year at PSG in 2013, reports the Mirror.
The football legend, who also achieved 115 caps for his national side, isn't just a household name for his sporting prowess; Beckham has become an icon in entertainment and commerce. His marriage to Victoria Adams catapulted him into the mainstream limelight beyond just his impressive career on the pitch.
In a lucrative endeavour, Beckham inked a decade-long deal in 2021 to become Qatar's tourism ambassador, bagging himself a reported £11m each year. Adding to his entrepreneurial accolades, back in 2014 Beckham announced his venture into Major League Soccer ownership by purchasing Inter Miami CF for £18m, with the team kicking off their inaugural season in March 2020.
Beckham's influence further extends to local football culture, highlighted by his recent acquisition of Salford City alongside ex-Manchester United colleague Gary Neville, Declan Kelly and Lord Mervyn Davies.
Reminiscing about his ties to the area, Beckham said: "I grew up in Salford...I have such fond memories of my time living there and the place and its people played such an important part in my early life in football.
"Salford City is at the heart of its community...it has a rich history and I am delighted to be a part of the next chapter." Meanwhile, Beckham's commercial ventures under DRJB Holdings definitely add a significant feather to his cap, with his personal brand raking in substantial earnings over the years.
Victoria is best known for her time with the 1990s pop sensation the Spice Girls – who have sold over 100m records globally and remain the best-selling girl group of all time. In addition to her music career, Victoria ventured into the fashion industry, launching her own label, VB, in September 2008.
She further expanded her brand by introducing the Victoria Beckham Beauty line in September 2019. Despite the Beckhams' success, King Charles III is still £140m wealthier, largely due to his Sandringham and Balmoral estates.
Additionally, managing the Duchy of Cornwall – a private estate established nearly 700 years ago to provide financial support to the heir apparent – has significantly boosted his finances.
However, this figure seems insignificant when compared to the total net worth of the Royal Family, which was estimated to be around £22billion in 2021, accumulated from various sources including the Crown Estate.
