Nuno Espirito Santo to walk away? Nottingham Forest boss could leave amid rising tensions with owner Evangelos Marinakis despite excellent Premier League season

Forest have secured a place in the top seven of the Premier League and are in with a chance of qualifying for the Champions League heading into the last game of the 2024-25 campaign.

Despite their rise up the table - Forest finished 17th last season - the prospect of the Portuguese manager leaving is being talked about within the club, Foot Mercato reports. Meanwhile, Relevo reports that Italian side Roma are interested in hiring him.

Espirito Santo and club owner Evangelos Marinakis were involved in a heated confrontation on the field recently, though the latter denied there was a problem between the two in a furious statement. The former Wolves and Tottenham boss took charge of Forest in late-2023 and helped guide them to Premier League safety on the final game of last season. His current contract runs until 2026.

Forest finish the season with a home game against Chelsea, who are fourth in the table, and it remains to be seen if it will be the 51-year-old's last game at the helm.
