Newcastle United confirm tour of South Korea and clash against Premier League rivals

The Magpies will play in South Korea for the first time with a clash against the Europa League winners

Newcastle United will jet to South Korea for a pre-season tour in the Far East in July and August.

The mini tour will follow a friendly game in Singapore against Arsenal on July 27.

The Magpies will face Tottenham Hotspur on neutral soil for the second time in a year after a 1-1 draw with the London side in Australia in 2024, which ended in a penalty shoot out win in Melbourne.

A statement from United did not confirm any dates, but read: "Our men's team will play matches in South Korea for the first time in the club's history this summer.

"Ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, we will take part in the prestigious Coupang Play Series 2025, one of Asia's biggest summer sporting events.

"Eddie Howe's men will head to South Korea for two highly anticipated games where we will face a K-League Select XI, followed by an all-Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

"Venues and fixture dates are set to be announced in coming weeks, along with ticket details for fans in South Korea as well as those wishing to travel to support us.

"The Coupang Play Series is organised by and promoted by Pitch and Coupang Corp. and has previously seen some of the world's biggest teams play in South Korea, such as Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Sevilla FC, FC Bayern Munich and Atlético de Madrid."

Newcastle have also confirmed a friendly with Celtic that will take place at Parkhead on July 19 against the Scottish Premiership champions.
