Real Madrid's Xabi Alonso has 'clear desire' to sign PSG 'jewel with galactic projection'

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Joao Neves this summer.

The Spanish giants rounded off a disappointing 2024-25 campaign with a 2-0 success over Real Sociedad on the weekend, waving goodbye to head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

With the veteran boss now preparing to take the reins of Brazil's national side, Xabi Alonso has moved from Bayer Leverkusen to fulfil the vacant role at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid's squad have under a month to become accustomed to Alonso's demands before their Club World Cup opener versus Al-Hilal on June 18.

Real Madrid 'targeting new galactico' Neves

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Real Madrid are continuing their attempts to enjoy a seismic summer transfer window, targeting a top player from Ligue 1.

The report claims that Los Blancos have made the signing of PSG and Portugal star Neves their main priority in the midfield area this summer.

It is understood that Real Madrid will swoop for the 20-year-old on the advice of new head coach Alonso, who is very keen to work with the youngster.

Contracted at Parc des Princes until the summer of 2029, Alonso's men will supposedly need to submit a significant offer to lure the player to the Bernabeu.

It is believed that Los Blancos could use some current players as bargaining chips in a deal to bring Neves to La Liga ahead of the new season.

Who could be involved in a swap deal?

Arsenal-linked Rodrygo is one player who is named as a potential part of the deal to recruit Neves from PSG during the summer transfer window.

The Brazilian's influence at the Bernabeu has waned since the arrival of Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham over the past two years in Spain.

Eduardo Camavinga and Brahim Diaz could also be offered to the perennial French champions according to the aforementioned report.
