Birmingham City Championship fixtures release date and new time as 2025/26 road map laid out
Latest Birmingham City news from BirminghamLive as 2025/26 fixtures release given new time after traditional 9am slot
Birmingham City are looking to join an exclusive club next season - by winning promotion in successive campaigns to go from League One to the Premier League.
Players have already been recruited, and others are still to arrive, even though Blues spent big - and spent well - last term. Even with a record EFL points total behind them from last term, it is clear that they are not resting on their laurels.
The players - at least those not on international duty - are already back for pre-season testing as of Wednesday, June 25 at the club's Elite Performance and Innovation Centre. But the real business will begin on Monday, June 30 before Blues fly out to Albufeira in Portugal for a week-long training camp from July 7 to 13.
Then come the pre-season games, ranging this year from clashes with the likes of Sevilla and Nottingham Forest to more modest opponents such as Port Vale, Northampton Town, Burton Albion, Crewe and Solihull Moors.
In the meantime, Blues and their Championship rivals will receive their fixtures for the new season on Thursday, June 26. However, there is one big change this year. Traditionally, the fixtures have come out at 9am, but this year it will be at noon.
Later in the day, at 4.30pm, clubs will learn the first round draw for the Carabao Cup, which will take place live on Sky Sports News.
The first round of Championship fixtures are scheduled to take place over the weekend of August 8 to 10, with Carabao Cup first-round ties coming the following week. According to the EFL, the scheduled 46 rounds of Championship matches will take place over 33 weekends, nine midweeks and four Bank Holidays.
