Rangers takeover kings handed Davide Ancelotti endorsements from the elite including Lewandowski
Ancelotti Jr has coached some of the best players in the world as he prepares to take the next step in his career
Rangers takeover powerbrokers are set to meet Davide Ancelotti this week - and he comes with some blockbuster references on his CV.
The driving force behind the takeover, Andrew Cavenagh, is set to weigh in on the final stage of Rangers' managerial hunt and meet candidates Ancelotti and Russell Martin in the coming days.
Chief executive Patrick Stewart, sporting director Kevin Thelwell and 49ers technical director Gretar Steinsson have been at the forefront of the search but Cavenagh is set to have an input in the final decision and it is understood he wants to look the next boss in the eye.
But before he meets the highly-rated coach, he has some big name recommendations to consider.
Ancelotti Jr has worked alongside his dad Carlo, at joined at Bayern Munich, Napoli, Everton and Real Madrid with the 35-year-old winning fans from inside the dressing room at each club.
Superstar striker Robert Lewandowski was among his Bayern backers - with the club winning a Bundesliga title and two DFL-Supercup trophies during his tenure.
On the lieutenant, he said: "Working with Davide is very good. Both sides benefit. He's very talented and can explain everything very well."
Javi Martinez, the former Bayern midfielder, also described the role Davide in his father's continuing success.
He said: "Davide completes Carlo and helps him understand the evolution of football. Davide is incredible: prepared, serious, a great person, like his father."
It was then off to Naples for the father-son duo - and while they didn't pick up any silverware from this spell in Italy Davide would continue to see his fan club grow.
Lorenzo Insigne said of the rising coach: "He is an exemplary professional, he tries to make the most of everything that is proposed to him."
It was then a surprise switch to Everton for Carlo - and while the Goodison Park switch raise an eyebrow or two it was again the No. 2 catching the eye behind the scenes.
Mason Holgate said during the two-year stint on Merseyside: "Davide is a very good coach, unbelievable to be honest, one of the best I have worked with.
"He is similar to his dad, calm and easy to speak to. You can speak to him about many things not just football.
"He is a really good coach and owns what he is talking about. All the staff the gaffer brought in are the same, easy-going, nice people who you can speak to.'
And after signing off at Real Madrid last weekend - after a tenure that saw two La Liga titles and two Champions League crowns claimed - the Galacticos were won over.
After an emotional farewell to the fans and players, Dani Ceballos said: "Davide, a phenomenon, with a huge future as a coach."
And while former Southampton boss Martin has been touted with a switch to the Scottish Premiership it appears a move to the English Championship is gathering pace.
That is the intel reaching former Celtic star Chris Sutton - as he named the next destination for the the former Light Blues' defender.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live: “My sources are telling me that Ruud van Nistelrooy will be leaving Leicester. A possibility of Russell Martin going in there – that’s my sources.”
