The transfer window may have only officially opened on Sunday morning, but it has been a busy couple of days on the transfer front for Liverpool.
Friday started with the club confirming they had accepted an offer for Trent Alexander-Arnold from Real Madrid. The Reds will receive a £10million fee as part of the deal, due to go through on June 1.
Liverpool also agreed the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen after triggering the player's £30million release clause. He has signed a five-year contract after passing a medical.
Between those two transfers becoming official, the club submitted a bid worth up to £109million for Florian Wirtz. Bayer Leverkusen are thought to want a fee closer to £115million.
Alongside the departure of Alexander-Arnold, the likes of Caoimhin Kelleher, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Ibrahima Konate, Kieran Morrison, Kostas Tsimikas, Luis Diaz and Wataru Endo are linked with moves away. As for further signings, moves for Benjamin Sesko, Castello Lukeba, Hugo Ekitike, Julian Alvarez, Milos Kerkez and Takefusa Kubo are mooted.

Diaz was signed by Liverpool in January 2022 from Porto and has gone on to score 41 goals in 148 appearances. The Colombia international enjoyed his best goalscoring season during his time at Anfield this term, with 17 in all competitions including 13 in the Premier League.
With the season now completed, Diaz's future has become a topic of speculation on the transfer rumour mill.

Gravenberch spotted with Liverpool 'target'
Liverpool star Ryan Gravenberch has been pictured with reported Reds transfer target Jorrel Hato. The Ajax defender has emerged as a candidate for a summer move after an impressive season in the Eredivisie for the 19-year-old.
Gravenberch is currently enjoying downtime after the Reds were officially crowned Premier League champions last Sunday. Hato, meanwhile, is with Holland's under-21s ahead of their European Championships campaign which kicks off on June 11.
Liverpool have been one of the many clubs linked with the Ajax starlet after establishing himself as one of the highest-rated prospects.

Chiesa message to PSG star
Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa has offered support to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia following Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League triumph. The Italian liked the PSG forward's post on social media after the Ligue 1 side won the European crown for the first time in their history.
Luis Enrique's side completed their path to superiority on Saturday after their 5-0 demolition job over Inter Milan. The Parisians overcame Liverpool on their path to the final, after beating the Reds on penalties in the last-16 before overcoming Premier League opposition in Aston Villa and Arsenal, on course to lift the silverware.

Caoimhin Kelleher transfer latest
Caoimhin Kelleher is close to leaving Liverpool to join Brentford in a deal that could be worth up to £18m, reports Paul Gorst.
The Ireland international is into the final 12 months of his Anfield terms and has made it clear he is keen to seek a move away in this summer's transfer window, having been kept on last year as high-quality cover for Alisson Becker.
With Georgia international Giorgi Mamardashvili set to move from Valencia in a £29m switch that was agreed last year, Kelleher's path to the Reds' first team is further away than ever and the 26-year-old is desperate to kick-start his career as a No.1 elsewhere.

Cody Gakpo message
Liverpool star Cody Gakpo has been praised by a former Bayern Munich icon amid rumours linking the forward with an Anfield exit.
Gakpo has been linked with an Anfield exit this summer, with reports in Germany claiming that Bayern Munich are expressing an interest in the 26-year-old.
Former Bayern star Mark van Bommel has addressed the speculation linking Gakpo with a move to the German champions, explaining why he rates the Liverpool forward so highly.

Bayer Leverkusen stance
Sky Germany have provided an update on Liverpool's quest to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
The report claims the Bundesliga club wants to add either Harvey Elliott or Jarell Quansah in a deal that would see Liverpool sign Wirtz.
The ECHO reported on Friday that a £109m bid had been submitted by the Reds for Wirtz, with talks set to continue between the two clubs.

FSG claim
Former Liverpool CEO Peter Moore believes Fenway Sports Group will want to offload players and balance the books if Liverpool sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
The Premier League champions are hoping to make the Germany international the most expensive player in Anfield history after tabling a bid worth £109m earlier this week.
If the offer for Wirtz, who has shunned interest from Manchester City and Bayern Munich in favour of entering negotiations over a move to Anfield, is accepted by Leverkusen, it would dwarf the £85m fee that the Reds committed to paying Benfica when they signed Darwin Nunez from in June 2022.

Florian Wirtz update
Liverpool are yet to reach an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for the signing of Florian Wirtz, it has been reported.
Kicker have claimed that Leverkusen have rejected Liverpool's second bid worth up to €130million (£109.6m), with negotiations between the two clubs set to continue.
It has been reported that Leverkusen are determined to receive a fee worth €150million (£126.5m), but adds that the possibility of a player leaving Anfield to move to Germany could see the total fee be reduced.
The ECHO reported on Friday that Liverpool had submitted what is thought to be a second offer for Wirtz, worth a total of £109m althougn the initial fee presented by the Reds remains unclear.

Liverpool accept £18m deal for Caoimhin Kelleher
Confirmation from our chief Liverpool writer Ian Doyle that the Reds have agreed a deal worth £ 18 million with Brentford for Caoimhin Kelleher.
The Republic of Ireland shotstopper will have an opportunity to be a first-choice goalkeeper after being behind Alisson Becker in the Reds pecking order.
But he leaves with a glut of winners medals and memories playing for Liverpool.
Giorgi Mamardashvili will officially sign his summer contract, having remained in Spain for the remainder of this season as he was apart of a Valencia side that avoided relegation before narrowly missing out on European qualification.

Reports: Brentford and Liverpool reach £12.5m Kelleher agreement
According to Sky Sports, Brentford have agreed an initial £12.5million deal with Liverpool for Caoimhin Kelleher.
They say it comes off the back of Mark Flekken's move to Bayer Leverkusen.
Should the move be finalised, Kelleher will join Sepp van den Berg and Fabio Carvalho as former Liverpool players at the Bees.

£18m transfer fee for Caoimhin Kelleher - reports
Alex Crook of talkSPORT has followed on from the widely-reported news regarding Caoimhin Kelleher.
He has added that the fee is reportedly around £18m.
Although that feels little bit on the lower side for some of the fees that have been paid for goalkeepers.
Let's not forget how good of a deputy Kelleher has been for Liverpool, standing in during Alisson's injury struggles as well as playing key parts in two Carabao Cup triumphs - and this year's Premier League.

Brentford in advanced talks with Kelleher
According to Sky Sports, Brentford are in advanced talks with Liverpool for goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.
The latest reports come following the development that the Bees have agreed in principle to sell Mark Flekken to Bayer Leverkusen.
The outlet claims that Flekken's move will not go ahead until the west London club have secured Kelleher as his replacement in goal.
Leverkusen and Brentford have agreed a reported £11m (€13m) deal, including add-ons, for the Netherlands goalkeeper.
Reports from Sky Germany suggest that Flekken is ready to undergo a medical at the Bundesliga side.

Crytpic Milos Kerkez transfer hint
Fabrizio Romano has posted a cryptic update regarding Milos Kerkez's future amid links with Liverpool.
The reporter has claimed that the decision regarding his future will be made in the coming days, but the suggestion appears to be that the move is close to being completed for the Reds.
Should he join, he will become the second addition after Jeremie Frimpong, who was confirmed on Friday.

Sunderland to 'hold talks' with Liverpool over forward
Premier League new boys Sunderland will reportedly hold talks with Liverpool about the possibility of signing Jayden Danns on a second loan deal.
The 19-year-old joined the Black Cats in January, but he failed to make an appearance for the club due to injury.
However, the Northern ECHO reports that Sunderland are interested in bringing the forward to the Stadium of Light ahead of their return to the Premier League.

Departing Liverpool coach pays tribute to Arne Slot
John Heitinga has paid tribute to Arne Slot and Liverpool after leaving his role at Anfield to become Ajax's head coach.
Speaking after his appointment in the Dutch capital on Saturday, Heitinga said: "I gained international experience, got a look behind-the-scenes in perhaps the biggest competition in the world.
"I got to work with two coaches of which one has been around for a long time and the other got to continue Jurgen Klopp's legacy.
"I think together we built something wonderful there last season.
"I had a fantastic year there, winning the league was the crown to our work."
Brentford could make move for Liverpool ace as transfer nears completion
Brentford could step up their interest in Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher as Mark Flekken appears to be edging closer to a move to Bayer Leverkusen.
Earlier this week, the ECHO reported that the Reds would demand upwards of £20m if the Republic of Ireland international, who has one year remaining on his current deal, were to leave the club, with Brentford interested in a move.
The Bees are set to lose first-choice goalkeeper Flekken.

Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool transfer latest
Liverpool will, reportedly, face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, who is valued at more than £80m by the Bundesliga side. The Frenchman has lit up Germany's top-flight since signing for Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain midway through the 2023/24 season.
In total, Ekitike has scored 26 goals and laid on 14 assists in 64 games during his time in Germany - a return which has seen his stock rise across the continent. The Guardian reports that Liverpool, who could be in the hunt for a new No.9 this summer if Darwin Nunez were to depart Anfield, are one of several Premier League clubs battling it out for Ekitike's signature.
But with four years still to run on his contract with Frankfurt, the Guardian adds that the Bundesliga outfit could ask for "north of £80m" for the forward.
Chelsea are one of those who could reportedly rival Liverpool for the Frenchman, though they are set to be well-stocked in attack next season after Liam Delap snubbed interest from Manchester United and Everton to agree on a move to Stamford Bridge.
The Mirror, however, reports that, despite winning the race for the England under-21 international, the Conference League winners are eyeing more attacking reinforcements this summer, and will hold talks with Ekitike's agent, Karl Mwalako Buchmann, in the coming days.

Steven Gerrard issues Liverpool warning after PSG Champions League final win
Speaking on TNT Sports after PSG 5-0 thrashing of Inter Milan in the Champions League final, Gerrard said: "The bravery to back the manager.
"How many times have we seen PSG change the coach because Neymar, Messi or Mbappe is there? They've shown complete bravery, from the top they've been bold.
"They've recruited well, O'Campos deserves a medal as much as the players.
"But listen, these are littered with superstars, all over the pitch.
"They've got four or five players that would walk into most teams in Europe, waiting to come on and they're all under 23 years of age.
"The future of this club is so bright, it's scary.
"This is the test for them because now they're going to be favourites.
"Now they're going to be spoken about in the same breath as your Liverpool's, Real Madrid's, the big test is can they back it up?
"Have they got the hunger to keep improving because it's certainly there for them."

Liverpool-linked striker - 'they were already interested'
Momodou Sonko has discussed his trial at Liverpool as the 20-year-old striker continues to be linked with a move.
The Reds had the chance to sign the Swede in 2017 but a move never materialised.
However, he is entering the market as one of the next highly-rated players to move to the Premier League and he has claimed the Reds are still keeping tabs.
"No, the way I see it is that they were already interested and I went there and tried it out a bit," he told Swedish outlet Expressen.
"I felt I was a little too young to move, but they have continued to keep an eye on me.
"My development in Sweden had been good before I moved, so it feels quite natural.
Manager hits back after Liverpool claim.
Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann has denied playing an impact in Liverpool's pursuit of Florian Wirtz.
Nagelsmann's former club, Bayern Munich, were favourites to sign the highly-rated playmaker until the Reds quickly emerged and gazumped the Bundesliga champions.
But the Germany boss has dismissed the suggestion he played a part in the saga.
"I've never told a player to move here or there," he said.
"What's important is that he plays - and plays a similarly important role to the one he played in Leverkusen.
"We know that he's one of the best players in the world."
Jeremie Frimpong on Liverpool five-year plan, his transfer problem and phone calls from team-mates
It may have taken the best part of 15 years and seen visits to two other countries. But finally Jeremie Frimpong is where he was always destined to be.
"You always want to play for the top teams as a footballer, as a kid," says Frimpong. "Of course when I was younger and Liverpool first came, that was a no-brainer as well, but due to transportation and all these sorts of things, I had to go a different way. And look at me now. So, it has worked really well. I was born in Amsterdam but I was raised in England so of course I know the culture. I think I’m going to settle in well."
The new arrival also bolsters strong Dutch representation at Anfield, with Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch already part of a squad led by head coach Arne Slot and his staff.
"I have had a few conversations with them," says Frimpong of his Holland national team colleagues. "Virgil has called me and told me a little bit more about Liverpool and the expectations, those types of things. And made me feel like the guys are going to welcome me well. That’s what I expect from Virgil with how he is in the national team – he’s a big character, captain. They have told me good things.
"Playing with world-class players as a footballer is a great feeling, it’s a privilege, like ‘I’m going to be next to Mo Salah’. Not just him, the whole Liverpool squad. Just Liverpool in general, this is a privilege, a blessing that I can be part of it. But I can’t wait to link up with him – hopefully we link up well. I’m excited for these things, 100%. I would say I’m very fast, explosive, up and down on the wing. Energetic. Yeah, I think I can bring a lot of energy to the team."

Liverpool sent exciting Florian Wirtz message as Lionel Messi claim made
Those who have seen Wirtz up close can already attest to his abilities.
Indeed, he is held in high regard in his homeland and Wirtz's international manager Julian Nagelsmann hinted at why he'll fit so well in Liverpool's system when comparing the attacker to Germany's other young star, Jamal Musiala.
"Jamal has worked a lot on his presence in the box, both at club level and with the national team," said Nagelsmann. "He’s getting into the penalty area more often now and has started scoring with his head. But with Flo, you can see he plays in a slightly more efficient way; he’s very hard-working. Over the course of a long season, when you play as many games as Leverkusen, it makes sense to be selective with your energy and choose the right moments to go all in."
Those comparisons continued with German World Cup winning manager Joachim Low, who believes Wirtz's direct style is the difference between the two players. "What distinguishes Jamal is his suppleness and movement in tight areas," he said. " His dribbling is one of his great strengths. Florian is a bit more direct - he is a bit more of a playmaker. He is always looking up and is ready to play the final pass."
Another former Germany coach, Barcelona boss Hansi Flick, described Wirtz as the "full package", praising the attacker's "carefree nature" on the pitch. He said: "Florian is just a huge asset with his care-free nature. He's simply an outstanding technician, loves to play, is very creative, has a good shot, runs hard and is quick. He's the full package."
Meanwhile, Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman - notoriously hard to impress - is also a fan, saying: "He is an incredibly important player for Germany with outstanding technical abilities, speed, intelligence – a class player."
But the biggest praise for Wirtz came from Cologne boss Gerhard Struber. Wirtz made the switch from Cologne to Leverkusen in 2020 as a 16-year-old and in February of this year Struber described him as the "German Messi from Cologne".

Liverpool consider options for Arne Slot new assistant as John Heitinga departure confirmed
Liverpool have already started the process of recruiting a new assistant coach after confirming John Heitinga is leaving to take over as boss of Ajax.
Heitinga was appointed last summer by new Reds boss Arne Slot and became a key figure in the backroom staff as Liverpool romped to a record-equalling 20th championship. Slot was asked last week about suggestions Ajax were considering a move for Heitinga, and said: "If Ajax would be smart, they would consider him. He is ready to take on a job like that. If John is smart, he would stay one more season."
Liverpool will now consider their alternatives as they look to recruit a new assistant coach to Slot ahead of the squad reconvening for pre-season in early July, with a number of names expected to be in the frame. Marino Pusic was assistant to Slot at both AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord and is available after this month leaving his post as Shakhtar Donetsk manager having won the domestic double in 2023/24 and the Ukrainian Cup this season.

Xavi Simons fuels Liverpool transfer speculation with Jeremie Frimpong message
RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons has fuelled speculation surrounding a potential move to Liverpool this summer after congratulating Jeremie Frimpong on his own transfer from Bayer Leverkusen.
Now, the focus is on who else will arrive at the club. One name who has been mentioned in passing is Simons. The Dutch attacking midfielder is claimed to be aiming to exit Leipzig this summer after they failed to qualify for next season's Champions League.
One of the clubs linked with a move for Simons is Liverpool and the playmaker would likely welcome a swap to Merseyside - owing to their participation in European football's top competition. It is understood that a fee of approximately £67m will be demanded this summer, before Leipzig agree to sell.
But, having spent frugally in his first transfer window, Arne Slot could have the funds to splash the cash on Simons if he chooses. Simons, inadvertently or not, fueled transfer speculation on Friday night when he congratulated Frimpong on his switch to Anfield. Commenting on a post which showed the full-back going through his media commitments, the 22-year-old simply wrote: "Deserved."

Ekitike 'advantage' emerges as rival club drops out of race
Chelsea are reportedly already in dialogue with the representatives of Hugo Ekitike amid interest from Liverpool.
Christian Falk of BILD claims in a column for the Daily Briefing that talks could soon become serious and acknowledges they have the advantage over the Reds. Liverpool are, however, said to still be in the race with the Blues, with Arsenal no longer in the running.

Luis Diaz Liverpool transfer 'plan' handed fresh update as new exit stance made clear
Barcelona are reportedly still interested in Luis Diaz amid strong interest from Al-Nassr.
According to The Times, Al-Nassr are eager to bolster their team for a Saudi top-flight title challenge next season and have pinpointed Diaz as a potential recruit. And journalist Fabrizio Romano, who specialises in transfers, has provided an update on Diaz's future.
"Al Nassr consider Luis Diaz as one of their main targets for the summer window to re-start with ambitious plan," he said on X. "Barcelona have also Luis Diaz on the list, but it depends on financial request by Liverpool. Al Nassr have Hancko and Luis Diaz among top priorities."
Earlier this month, Diaz declared his desire to remain at Anfield and teased contract talks over a possible extension on Merseyside, lengthening his stay in England after arriving from FC Porto in January 2022. "Yes, happy," he told Telemundo. "From the first day I arrived, I’ve always been happy, calm, enjoying the football played at this great team.
"We’ll be talking about it, we’ll talk about it (about the renewal). For me, I would stay however many years it takes, it also depends on the club, everything. These are details that are sorted out separately. Very calm, I’m happy and enjoying the Premier League."

Wirtz contract details revealed amid Liverpool 'agreement'
Florian Wirtz has reportedly agreed on a five-year contract with the Reds.
BILD claims the fee Bayer Leverkusen receives is all that remains to discuss. The transfer is said to be imminent and seemingly a matter of days from being formally completed.

Kerkez transfer timeline emerges amid ongoing Wirtz negotiations
Liverpool will reportedly sign Milos Kerkez after reaching a deal for Florian Wirtz.
TEAMtalk claims their pursuit of the Bournemouth player is "strategically timed" to follow a transfer for Wirtz. Kerkez is already said to have approved a move that reputedly has the potential to be worth £45million.
