Aston Villa's Louie Barry has reportedly been made available for loan this summer, with a number of Sky Bet Championship clubs put on high alert.

Barry, who spent last season on loan at both Stockport County and Hull City, made an early return to Villa Park in February after suffering an injury.

But according to GiveMeSport, the 21-year-old has been put in the shop window once again as Unai Emery believes more second-tier experience is needed if he is to make a breakthrough into the first-team.

It is claimed this move will 'start a scramble' of clubs interested in his services - and it's easy to understand why.

Having started off his career with Sutton United and West Bromwich Albion, Villa brought Barry back to the UK in 2020 after a short stint at Barcelona and he has since enjoyed several loan spells.

The most successful being the two years at Stockport County, where last season he scored 16 goals in 24 appearances.

He spent the whole of the season prior at Stockport and helped them to the League Two title after bagging nine times in 20 games, but missed a portion of the season due to a hamstring injury.

Great form that saw Barry recalled to the West Midlands early before being shipped out to Hull in order to test the player at a higher level.
