Liverpool 'survey' £109m star ahead of summer transfer amid Alexander Isak 'dream' claim
Latest Liverpool transfer news and gossip with updates on Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak and AC Milan forward Rafael Leao
Liverpool are continuing to be linked with several potential new signings as the summer transfer window gets into full flow. The Reds have already been busy in the early days of the window with the £29.5million signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.
Frimpong's now-former teammate, Florian Wirtz, also continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool. The Reds recently had a £109million bid rejected by the Bundesliga club as they continue their negotiations to get a deal over the line.
It's not just Wirtz who is being linked with a move to Liverpool, though. Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike and Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez have also been mentioned as potential new signings for the Reds this summer.
Here, the ECHO takes a look at some of the latest Liverpool transfer news and gossip that has generated headlines over the last 24 hours.
Alexander Isak 'update'
Liverpool are continuing to be linked with a move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak after another stellar season at St. James' Park, scoring 27 goals in all competitions.
The Reds have been linked with the Sweden international for several months amid suggestions of a price tag in excess of £100million, while Arsenal are also keen on his services this summer.
TBR Football has claimed that Liverpool still view Isak as their 'dream' striker signing of the summer, even if they go on to sign Wirtz from Leverkusen.
The report adds Liverpool are still weighing up their options for a new striker despite having an interest in Isak. Newcastle United are understood to not want to sell their key man this summer.
Rafael Leao 'interest'
Liverpool are being credited with an interest in signing AC Milan star Rafael Leao according to reports in Italy.
Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb has claimed that the Reds have 'surveyed Leao' with a view to a potential transfer.
This, the report claims, is due to Liverpool preparing for the possibility of either Cody Gakpo or Luis Diaz leaving the club and needing to sign a replacement.
Bayern Munich have also been heavily linked with signing Leao, with suggestions of a price tag being set at around €130million (£109.4million). It has been stated, though, that Milan are not planning on letting Leao leave the club this summer.
